1649 – 1^st known conviction for lesbian activity in North America. In Plymouth, Massachusetts, Sarah White Norman was charged with “lewd behaviour each with other upon bed,” with Mary Vincent Hammon who was under 16 and so was not prosecuted.

1990 – Queer Nation founded in New York, USA

2003 – Trial in Egypt of the “Queen Boat” arrestees ends with 21 convicted for 3 years, 29 acquitted
